Third Grade

Rebecca Evans Wilson

Becca Wilson

Hi, I am Becca Wilson! I am super excited to be part of the 3rd grade team at CBES! I live in Gastonia with my husband and I love spending time with him and my stepdaughter. I earned both my B.S. in Elementary Education and my M.Ed. in Learning Design and Technology from Winthrop University. My wish for my students is simple: have fun, be kind, and learn something new every day. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Kristy Melton

Kristy Melton

My name is Kristy Melton! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina and (fun fact!) also hold an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology. During my education program, I completed my internship in 3rd and 4th grades at CBES and I am so excited to be back in a school that feels like home! My passion for teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning and a desire to be a positive role model who makes a meaningful difference in students’ lives.

Outside of school, I’m a big foodie who loves sushi, traveling, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.

Jessica Palermo

Jessica Palermo

My name is Jessica Palermo and I have been teaching at Cotton Belt since 2023. Prior to teaching at CBES, I taught 4th grade at Chapel Grove Elementary in Gaston County, NC after receiving my undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University. I love incorporating songs, hand motions, chants, and silly stories into my lessons to get my students excited about learning!

I am originally from Atlanta, but currently live in Clover with my husband, 3 children, 3 dogs, and our horse. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and fur children and shopping on Amazon for scented markers and erasable pens.

Rita Woodley

Rita Woodley

My name is Rita Woodley and I have taught Third Grade since I began my teaching career in York. I have taught at Cotton Belt since 2015. Prior to that year, I taught Third Grade, Fourth Grade, and then Second Grade at Chester Park Center of Literacy Through Technology.  I love third grade and everything about it! I enjoy watching the many milestones my students reach and the independence they gain throughout the year. It’s truly a year of learning independence.

I live in York with my husband and two daughters. I enjoy reading, shopping, and playing video games. I love going on new adventures with my family!
