Megan Hoyt - Principal
My name is Megan Hoyt and I am the proud Principal of Cotton Belt Elementary School! As a product of York School District One from Kindergarten through graduation, I experienced firsthand the care, dedication, and excellence that define our schools. Those experiences continue to inspire me each day as I partner with our amazing staff to provide students with meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that prepare them for success—both in school and in life. I hold degrees from Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina, where I earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership. My goal is to create a school environment where students feel like they belong and are excited to take on new challenges, where families feel welcomed and supported, and where teachers and staff are empowered to do what they do best—ignite a love of learning. I’m so grateful to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated staff who share that same vision. Together, as a school family, we’re creating a place where every child feels valued, supported, and celebrated.
Outside of school, I love the peaceful pace of life in Hickory Grove, where I live with my husband, our children, and our sweet dogs. I’m looking forward to another amazing year at Cotton Belt Elementary!
Susan Reeves - Assistant Principal
I'm excited to begin another school year at Cotton Belt and look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces throughout our school community. I am passionate about creating an environment where every student and staff member feels safe, supported, valued and inspired to grow. Building strong relationships and fostering a positive school culture are at the heart of my work. I look forward to another year that is sure to be successful, rewarding and full of memorable moments.
Outside of school, I enjoy baking and cooking with my husband - we are big foodies! I love attending concerts and exploring new cities when I get the chance. I also love doing my nails; in fact, I even studied to become a nail technician! I enjoy any opportunity to be creative and try new things.
