School Leadership

Megan Hoyt - Principal

My name is Megan Hoyt and I am the proud Principal of Cotton Belt Elementary School! As a product of York School District One from Kindergarten through graduation, I experienced firsthand the care, dedication, and excellence that define our schools. Those experiences continue to inspire me each day as I partner with our amazing staff to provide students with meaningful, individualized learning opportunities that prepare them for success—both in school and in life. I hold degrees from Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina, where I earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership. My goal is to create a school environment where students feel like they belong and are excited to take on new challenges, where families feel welcomed and supported, and where teachers and staff are empowered to do what they do best—ignite a love of learning. I’m so grateful to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated staff who share that same vision. Together, as a school family, we’re creating a place where every child feels valued, supported, and celebrated.

Outside of school, I love the peaceful pace of life in Hickory Grove, where I live with my husband, our children, and our sweet dogs. I’m looking forward to another amazing year at Cotton Belt Elementary!

Susan Reeves - Assistant Principal

My name is Susan Reeves and I am thrilled to be the Assistant Principal at Cotton Belt Elementary this school year! This will be my 14th year in education and my third year serving as an Assistant Principal. Having grown up in the York County area, I’m especially excited to return to my roots after spending the past two years in North Carolina. It feels wonderful to be back in a community that truly feels like home. I’m passionate about fostering a school environment where every student and staff member feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow.

Outside of school, I enjoy baking and cooking with my husband (we are big foodies!), attending concerts, and exploring new cities. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year with our students, staff, and families!
